In a delightful hillside position, casa Mori stands on the edge of a 10_hectare estate producing wine, oil and honey close to Certaldo (6km), the birthplace of the poet Boccaccio. The fine standstone house was completely renovated, skilfully preserving original features such as the open_beamed ceilings and terracotta floors.On the same property there is also a partially renovated barn which is occasionally used for work on the estate and during the wine_harvest. The fully equipped swimming_pool boasts a splendid panoramic position, with a view of the hills stretching uo to the towers of San Gimignano (15 km). Certaldo Certaldo, in the centre of the Elsa valley, comprises of a new part situated in the valley and a historical centre situated on the upper levels. Every year, in July there is a multicoloured medieval fair. The village is famous because the well known writer Giovanni Boccaccio, author of "Decamerone" was born there. Historical resort with 15'000 inhabitants, in the centre of the region, on top of a hill, 50 km south-west from Firenze, 50 km north-west from Siena. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Thermal pool at 9 km. Access: Firenze-Siena - (Poggibonsi) - SS. 429. Access by train (Firenze/Pisa) - Empoli - Siena. Railway station in the resort.
