Certaldo Certaldo, in the centre of the Elsa valley, comprises of a new part situated in the valley and a historical centre situated on the upper levels. Every year, in July there is a multicoloured medieval fair. The village is famous because the well known writer Giovanni Boccaccio, author of "Decamerone" was born there. Historical resort with 15'000 inhabitants, in the centre of the region, on top of a hill, 50 km south-west from Firenze, 50 km north-west from Siena. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort.
