When travelling in Portugal you will realize a substantial difference in north and south, both with regards to nature and population. The northern and central part of Portugal is very green and lush and is densely populated, whereas the southern part is dry and more scarcely populated. In the cosy rural areas you can still experience horse drawn carriages on the small roads.
